Either putt hem on while they are still slightly damp or massage them gently several times while they are drying. This will make even slightly stiff pants as soft and pliable as they were when you bought them..
Should you ever forget to do this, simply spray your pants down with water , for example with a flower sprayer.
If you have chosen Nubuk leather (a type of suede), please remember that the velour-like effect will be greatly reduced after you wash them. Brushing the material vigorously will refresh the velvet-like appearance. In some cases, usually after frequent washing, it may be necessary to treat the pants with suitable leather care products, to prevent them from becoming too fragile to be massaged back to softness.
Shortening the inseam:
Pants with long inseams can easily be shortened to the correct length. All you need is some Pattex glue.
Leave the inseam always 6 – 8 cm longer than the required final length. Any leather extending beyond this tolerance may be cut off. The excess leather is then turned inside left and glued in from point to point.
This method delivers various benefits:
There are no visible traces of shortening on the exterior of the pants, such a needle stitch holes from sewing. Inseams that have shrunk can be easily extended by removing the glue seam and adjusting the length prior to reaffixing the seam.
Never shorten inseams to the shortest length required immediately, because they always pull up some once they are being worn!!
Dark pants will stain other fabrics prior to the first washing! Please do not sit on light colored upholstery or wear them with light colored garments!!
